Professionals

We can provide advice, guidance and training to professionals.

What can we offer?

  • Training for staff so they feel more confident and better resourced.  Children can be resilient and the majority can process and manage their grief by themselves, with help from their family and the professionals already in their lives. For info about our training click professionals training
  • Resources
  • Telephone advice
  • Information about our bereavement programmes
  • 1:1 work with bereaved children at school, in exceptional circumstances

We operate on a self referral basis. Families should refer themselves to us using the information on our home page. However, we welcome all contact from professionals and can discuss anonymous cases if this is helpful.

Feedback on our training:

"One of the best quality training courses I have ever attended in my 30 plus years of practice. Professionally led and sensitively managed. We were supported and challenged to develop our knowledge and self-awareness. The group were superb and were enabled to work together really well by the course leaders."

Schools & Colleges

When a student dies in a school, or is bereaved, or when a member of staff dies it is a huge shock to the whole community connected to the institution. How it is handled can make a huge difference to how everyone copes. Teachers are expected to know what to do but they can often feel out of their depth too.

Other Professionals

When a family with complex needs faces bereavement it can be extremely challenging for them and for the team supporting them. They are often the families least well resourced to deal with the challenges that face them.  It can be hard to know how best to support them.
